"Camí de Ronda"

This painting is the first one that truly felt like mine, like it was my style. I don’t know if my style will change (it probably will), but I know it will evolve from here.

The original reference was a beautiful landscape photo I saw on Pinterest, but after visiting Cadaqués (you can read more about that trip here) I made a few changes.

Walking from Cadaqués to Portlligat, I was struck by how much the views reminded me of the painting I was working on. The green hills, the blue sky, those bursts of purple flowers that kept appearing. The only difference was the water: in my original source it was grey, but in La Costa Brava it shimmered turquoise. So when I got home, I changed the colours and named the painting after that walk: "Camí de Ronda"
