Late August

"Late August" brings together fragments of colour, gesture and raw cotton in a composition that feels warm, layered and collected over time. Golden ochres dominate the work, interrupted by touches of blue, burgundy and soft pink that appear and disappear across its surface.

Each section retains traces of the original painting while becoming part of a new whole. The visible frayed edges emphasise the physical nature of the cotton and create a shifting rhythm reminiscent of sun-worn walls, tiled surfaces and the fragmented way we remember the end of summer.
