The following is a curated selection of my paintings from 2024 to present so you can see the healing evolution I've been on since my last surgery.

My work has unfolded in chapters that mirror the stages of my own healing and becoming. First, I turned to portraits, mostly women close to my age, with dreamlike colors and exaggerated beauty. They were not just faces on canvas but mirrors of what I longed to recover: expression, identity, presence. Later, I shifted to landscapes, painting from photographs of places I had visited or wished to return to. In those years, I longed for freedom and exploration, for the wide open of nature I couldn’t always reach. Among them, the wild coasts of Victoria, BC, where I once lived, and Tofino, a place I only visited but still dream of, became recurring symbols of sanctuary and escape.
Now, I find myself in abstraction. What once intimidated me has become liberating, a form of meditation where I let go of control and follow color, texture, and movement. Abstraction allows me to create space rather than depict it, to build atmospheres that are both deeply personal and open enough for others to enter with their own memories.
